National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

The NDIS provides support and funding to individuals who live with disabilities. This enables participants to access different services and supports to achieve their goals.

At Enliven Therapy, our Occupational Therapist has extensive experience working with NDIS participants since the scheme was rolled out in New South Wales in 2017. Since then, our Occupational Therapist has worked with participants across different age groups including children, teenagers and adults.

Our Occupational Therapist has a special interest in working with people with physical disabilities including neurological conditions (e.g. Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease, Muscular Dystrophy, Parkinson’s Disease, Huntington’s Disease, etc.). She also has experience working with people with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities.

Comprehensive Initial Assessment

Once we have connected participants with our Occupational Therapist, we would organise and complete a comprehensive and holistic assessment to find out more about their needs and goals.

Our Occupational Therapist has extensive experience in the following assessments:

·       Home Modification Assessments

·       Assistive Technology Assessments

·       Functional Assessments

Please note that we are currently only providing NDIS services to participants who are plan-managed or self-managed.

At Enliven Therapy, we believe that everyone has the right to access their homes safely. This may include using their bathrooms to shower or feeling confident to leave their homes to meet a friend.

Our Occupational Therapist is specialised in both minor and complex home modifications and is an approved home modification assessor for the NDIS.

Home Modifications

We listen to our participants’ needs and work closely with them to find out what is working well and not working well in their daily routines. We help identify the most suitable Assistive Technology solution to support our participants.

Our Occupational Therapist has experience prescribing Assistive Technology including transfer aids, beds, pressure care products and mobility devices such as mobility scooters and manual or power wheelchairs. We offer trial services with Assistive Technology/ Equipment suppliers to ensure our participants are accessing the most suitable Assistive Technology that meets their needs.

Assistive Technology

Our Occupational Therapist offers Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA) for participants who are over 18 years old.
